You bring the asset. We help build the operation.
MMS is not just a buyer, a plant supplier or a financier. We build viable gold operations with you through a staged, commercially disciplined, long-term partnership. Our aim is to create value for every stakeholder and get gold produced as soon as possible.
The problem we solve
Why promising gold sites stay small
Most owners we speak to have the ground. What they lack is one or more of the capabilities needed to turn it into a dependable operation.
- Capital to move beyond small-scale production
- Suitable processing plants and metallurgical expertise
- Technical skills to assess and improve recovery
- Reliable equipment, consumables, spares and maintenance
- Logistics and supply-chain coordination
- Working capital and a credible route to market
- Production data, cost visibility and operational controls
- A partner willing to work through several stages
One partner, not a chain of suppliers
Without a partner, the owner has to find a funder, a plant vendor, a metallurgist, reagent suppliers, hauliers and someone to keep the numbers honest, then make them all work together. MMS brings these capabilities together and stays accountable for how they fit.
Six capability pillars
More than funding. A partner in building the operation.
What we bring to each partnership, scaled to what the asset can support.
Capital and risk appetite
We assess opportunities and, where justified, commit capital through defined stages: technical studies, sampling, pilot operations, equipment, processing infrastructure or expansion. We work through uncertainty where it can be investigated, measured and managed. We don’t take blind risks or promise funding before due diligence.
Speed and execution
We aim to decide quickly, remove unnecessary delays and move viable opportunities through a clear sequence of actions. Where site conditions and economics support it, modular processing can offer a faster route to production than a conventional greenfield mine.
Technical and metallurgical expertise
We bring together the skills to assess ore characteristics, processing routes, recovery, plant requirements, operating costs and production potential. The aim is to understand what the asset can realistically deliver, and what it takes to get there.
Logistics and supply-chain backbone
Equipment sourcing, processing consumables, spares, transport, freight, site mobilisation and ongoing supply. Remote operations need dependable logistics, not just a plant and a funding commitment.
Data and operating intelligence
Production, recovery, grade, throughput, cost, inventory and sales data, with transparent reporting and controls, so owners and partners see actual performance, catch problems early and decide on further investment with facts.
Long-term partnership and growth
We want operations that grow sustainably, not a transaction and a handshake. Where the asset supports it, the relationship moves from assessment to pilot processing, commercial operations, optimisation and expansion, with responsibilities and commercial interests agreed between the parties.
Processing
What processing can look like on site
Where the ore suits it, a modular plant can process ore close to where it is mined. The circuit is chosen after testwork: gravity for coarse free gold, carbon-in-leach for finer gold, or toll processing of ore from local miners. Not every asset suits the same technology.
- ORE IN
ASM supply
Licensed artisanal miners deliver ore and are paid per gram recovered.
- COMMINUTION
Crush & mill
Jaw crusher and ball mill reduce ore to liberation size.
- COARSE GOLD
Gravity
Jigs and shaking tables catch free-milling gold early.
- FINE GOLD
CIL circuit
Carbon-in-leach recovers fine and partly refractory gold.
- ELUTION
Strip carbon
Gold is stripped from loaded carbon and electrowon.
- SMELT
Doré bar
Smelted into doré, weighed and logged in metal accounts.
- SALE
Buyer
Sold at the LBMA price to an approved, licensed buyer.
The partnership process
From gold site to operating business
Six stages, in order. We commit more only as evidence builds, and a project can stop at any stage if the evidence doesn’t support further investment.
- Stage 1
Introduce
The owner, licence holder, operator or originator submits the site with basic details on location, rights, ore and current status.
- Stage 2
Screen
MMS reviews ownership or access rights, jurisdiction, available evidence, operating context and commercial fit.
- Stage 3
Validate
Where justified, technical and commercial due diligence: sampling, assays, metallurgical tests, resource or inventory assessment, site inspection and early economics.
- Stage 4
Structure
Agree the development model, responsibilities, capital commitments, economics, governance and decision gates before material resources are committed.
- Stage 5
Mobilise and operate
Subject to approvals and agreed conditions, arrange the funding, plant, people, equipment, consumables and logistics to establish or improve the operation.
- Stage 6
Measure, optimise and grow
Track actual performance against the operating plan. Reinvest or expand only where results, conditions and economics justify the next stage.
Development models
A structure that fits the asset
The model follows the site: its maturity, risk, capital need and economics. Responsibilities, capital commitments, economics, governance and decision gates are agreed in writing before any material commitment.
For operators and local partners
Build the operation with us
We work with people who can execute locally: plant operators, mining contractors, cooperatives and service providers who know the ground and the communities around it.
Local execution
Running or supporting plant, mining and site operations to an agreed plan and reporting standard.
Site development
Mobilisation, construction, maintenance and the practical work of bringing a site into production.
Community and stakeholders
Relationships with landowners, traditional authorities, miners and regulators that every operation depends on.
