Active artisanal and small-scale mining
- Existing gold production or credible evidence of recoverable gold
- Several miners or a dependable supply of ore
- Room to improve recovery, processing access, traceability and returns
We are interested in opportunities where a real gold asset exists, but more capital, processing infrastructure, technical capability or operating support could unlock its value.
Five types of opportunity
Most sites fit one of these, and some fit two. If yours doesn’t fit neatly, submit it anyway and tell us why it should.
What we need to start
We don’t expect an opportunity to be fully developed before you approach us. We do need enough to make a fair first assessment.
Current production, historical workings, records, samples or assays that point to recoverable gold.
Transparent ownership, a licence, or an access agreement with the holder that can be verified.
Location, access, current status and whatever technical information exists, even if it is incomplete.
Sites where ownership or access can’t be verified, where operating would mean bypassing licensing, environmental, safety or community obligations, or where there is no lawful route to sell the gold.
Before we invest
Before any material commitment we check the asset, the people and the economics. Not every site suits the same processing route, and not every site will be funded.
Ownership, licensing and access rights, verified against the registry.
Evidence of grade, and how the ore responds to processing.
Realistic tonnes, grade and production assumptions.
Expected recovery, operating costs and plant requirements.
Power, water, roads and logistics to and from site.
Local operating capability, and relationships with communities and other stakeholders.
Permits, social and environmental obligations, and safety standards to meet.
Site security, gold accounting, traceability and lawful routes to market.
The capital required, expected cash flow, and what happens if things go wrong.
